Vietnam 1998
Note from the photographer: "The Vietnam War had been over 25 years in 1998 when I decided to return to Vietnam.  I returned alone to rediscover and photograph the places I had known as a photographer with the 815th Engineers in Pleiku and later as a photo journalist with the 26th PIO, USAECAV.

Much to my surprise I discovered a country that had moved past the poverty and destruction of war.  Few visible signs of war remained and hardly any of the buildings and military posts we built had survived.  Barbed wire was re-purposed from base perimeter fences, designed to keep the enemy out, to farm fences to keep livestock from wandering.  Buildings had been disassembled and the materials used to help rebuild the country. "
